Any parents, community members, or staff are invited to join our planning team for the MESD Parent Academy.
The purpose of the academy is to provide a forum for parents to gather and share ideas related to areas of interest or need. We want to build a strong partnership! Please join us on Thursday, November 19, 2009, 6:00 p.m. at Mountainview Elementary School. Childcare will be provided. Just RSVP to Amy Cavasos at 832-5814. We hope to see you there!
H1N1 at MESD
As you know, H1N1 is present in New Mexico and there are confirmed
cases in MESD. The good news is that the cases we have had
reported to us have been mild and are similar to the regular seasonal
flu. However, the district is still taking steps to reduce the spread
of flu. We want to keep the school open to students in a normal manner
during the school year, but we need everyone’s help to do this which
includes administrators, teachers, custodians, health assistants,
ancillary staff and parents. We all need to do our part.
PED sets up a bullying hotline: 1-866-SPEAK UP (773-2587). The program offers students an anonymous tip line to report bullying, threats of weapon-related violence and other crimes at school and in the community.
